The peaceful setting of her farm in the Red River Valley often inspires her to paint her countryside in words.
April is an honors graduate from Texas A&M University with a BS in Computer Science and a Minor in English. She
worked for years as a software developer under contract with such giants as IBM, Deloitte & Touche. Andersen
Consulting, EDS, American Airlines, and Texas Instruments. Most of her work was on Government Contracts

took her to Oregon, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Arizona, Kansas, and Austin,Texas.
She often sang the words "I've had the time of my life."
Fran Lewis writes:
Born in the South Bronx, I grew up with people from many ethnic backgrounds. I learned to play and work with
children in my school that came from other countries and different places.
I was always over weight as a child and got picked on a lot by the other children in my class and even my teachers. I
found it hard to do many of the sporting activities that my sister and cousins could do. I learned at an early age that
kids can be mean and I promised myself that I would never retaliate or do mean things to other kids in return.
When I decided to write my short stories I realized that I had a lot to say about my youth and in both of my books I tell
about a ten year old girl named Bertha who learns to deal with real life issues kids face today at home and in school.
I write reviews for other sites and I wrote three children’s books and currently writing one on Alzheimer Disease.
As an educator I the New York City Public Schools for over 36 years, I realized just how unique and precious our children are. I was the reading
and writing staff developer in my school and the dean. I loved the children and had the respect of my fellow teachers and parents.
Teaching children to read was really very rewarding and introducing them to writing and creating their own stories was exciting for the students. I
am a member of WhosWho of America’s Executives and Professionals as well as a member of WhosWho of America’s Teachers. I am the author
of three children’s books and my fourth entitled Memories Are Precious: Alzheimer’s Journey: Ruth’s Story will be out next month. I am currently
writing my fourth Bertha Book and another book in a different genre.

One is a children's story, published on Story Station,“The Trouble with Follow the Leader”,
http://viatouch.com/learn/storystation/stories/troublefollowleader.jsp
which she discussed on Blog Talk Radio this June. She has also written an adult story,
“Out on A Ledge” http://www.moondance.org/2002/fall02/fiction/out.html,
which is published in Moondance.org, and a memoir, “Summer Memories”.
Currently she is still shopping her first YA novel and is in the middle of a second one.She writes a blog, Barbara’s Meanderings,
http://barbaraehrentreu.blogspot.com/

Mike Marcellino, a national award winning journalist, hosts his first Notebookwriter Show, produced by Red
River Writers on Blog Talk Radio, from 8-10pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2009.
Notebookwriter features probing interviews with guest authors, writers, poets, singer songwriters, journalist
and photographers. The show also features stories, commentary, poetry and prose written by Mike, as well as
what he calls his “poetry song music.”
Mike’s writing and photography focuses on people, places, experiences and events from around America and
other countries. Mike has performed solo and with musicians and bands, including his own, “Split Pea/ce, at
featured gigs and open mics in places such as Cornelia Street Café in Greenwich Village, New York City;
Spike Hill in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY; Gypsy Café in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Barking Spider Tavern, Visible
Voice Books in Tremont and Macs Backs Books on Coventry in Cleveland; and an unknown bar in the French
Quarter in New Orleans.
When she moved to Florida twenty years ago, Dellani Oakes had no idea that the history was so rich and fascinating.
Visiting St. Augustine for the first time about fifteen years ago, she felt the allure of the country's oldest city, deciding
then to write a story based there. It wasn't until nearly twelve years later that "Indian Summer" took its final form.
Dellani is a happily married mother of four, Mary Kay consultant, substitute teacher and former English teacher. When
she isn't being one of the above, she is an avid writer, spending every possible moment immersed in her other worlds.
"Indian Summer" is her only historical romance, but she also has written a series of sci-fi/ adventure novels,
contemporary romances and short stories.
"Indian Summer" is an historical novel set in St. Augustine, Florida in 1739. It is a blend of romantic fiction and
intriguing adventure. "Indian Summer" is Dellani's first book and is available from SecondWindPublishing.com or
Amazon.com
“Indian Summer” is set in St. Augustine, Florida in 1739. Under Spanish rule, the small town and fortress, the Castillo
de San Marcos, are constantly under attack by the British.
Gabriella Deza is the youngest daughter of the Spanish Governor. By accident, she discovers a plot hatched by a
British spy, to overtake the fort and town. She and her fiance, Manuel Enriques, set a trap for the spy. Unfortunately,
Gabriella is accidentally caught and kidnapped. It is up to Manuel to rescue Gabriella, catch the spy and save the
town.
Reviews:
Norm Brown: Indian Summer by Dellani Oakes is the first historical romance novel I've ever read. In fact, it's the only
romance novel of any kind I've ever read. That being said, I enjoyed reading it. The story is set in an interesting
period in early colonial Florida. I think Dellani Oakes did a particularly good job of subtly capturing the more formal
way people spoke and acted at the time, without getting caught up in using a lot of distracting dialect in the dialogue.
As far as the romance side of things, I'll just say that Gabriella, the protagonist, was one popular young lady!

Mike’s writing career began when he served in the U. S. Army. His journalism baptism was as a combat correspondent and photojournalist in the
Vietnam War. A graduate of Defense Information School, Mike began writing poetry and songs in a bunker during mortar and rocket attacks in the
Vietnam. He is completing work on his first book about writing music road trips and retro life stories.

On the 4th Thursday of each month, Tales from the Pages is hosted by Barbara Ehrentreu at 3PM Central. Barbara interviews writers who write
short stories and articles as well as authors of published books. They discuss the ins and outs of publishing short stories and articles. Guests
read from their work either published or unpublished. Barbara reads from her own work as well. Barbara hopes to acquaint the listeners with
writers who do not get enough attention.
After years of working as a Case Tool programmer, April retired from that career and pursued another love, writing children's books. Along the
way, she became a a promoter of writers and artists through her Group Red River Writers - Works of Writers & Artists Worldwide on FaceBook.
One thing led to another, and she ended up with three FB Fan pages, 15 Blog Talk Radio shows under her name, and Robin Falls Magazine. She
truly enjoys her new life and invites her friends to be involved with it.
April's children's books are family oriented, targeted for ages 2 to 10. They tell a story that is easy for a beginning reader to read, yet leaves them
with a sense of accomplishment. Many include grandparents, as well as parents. None give a lecture but all have happy endings. Her books are
loaded with colorful illustrations and are just simply fun to read. They are a transition from picture books to chapter books.
April is married. She and her husband, of 40 plus years, have two grown children and four grandchildren. All of which live in the Dallas/Ft Worth
area.

(a reader) I don't usually read this genre so I really wasn't sure if I'd like it, just on that basis alone, but this book kept me reading and involved.
The characters are well drawn and the ending surprised me. A good read!
Michelle McGriff: With the feeling of Like Water for Chocolate, I really enjoyed reading another book of this similar era and geographical location.
This is truly a romantic time and when you read a book like this you are transcended into that day and all things seem possible and real.
This was my first book by Ms. Oakes and I found it to be charming, entertaining and non-surprisingly exciting.
Gabriella-the protagonist of the story has the truly charming innocence yet-old soul-that makes her a believable main character.
Well done. I look forward to Ms. Oakes' next novel.
Claire Collins: Gabriella Deza is a young woman coming of age amid turmoil. This historical is a fabulous read.

On the 4th Wednesday at noon Central, join "What's Write for Me" on Red River Writers Live. Host Dellani Oakes interviews writers with different
approaches to their craft. Since writing is as individual as we are, what techniques work well for one person may not work for another. On What's
Write for Me, we will explore different avenues to the same goal - perfecting our skills.

I do not check this e-mail daily, but will make every effort to reply promptly.

Tea Time with Dellani will spotlight 1 or 2 young adult authors the first Monday of each month. Authors will be able to read excerpts, discuss their
writing process, why they write what they write, buying information, classroom adaptability, etc. Tea Time is a chance for Dellani and her guests to
chat in a low stress, friendly, comfortable, informal environment. Depending upon number of guests, the show will be either 30 or 60 minutes long,
with each author having a 30 minute spotlight. I would also be delighted to host illustrators.
To contact Dellani about scheduling your interview, please write to DellaniRFK@gmail.com I will check this e-mail once or twice a week. (I have a
great many e-mails already, so allow me the opportunity to do so as my schedule allows.) Requests sent via Facebook Inbox WILL NOT get

I look forward to our chat!

Mj (Mary) Gillot
Mary writes the following about herself:
Art, art, art. Writing. Creativity-- as much as possible. I love it more than sleep. Sometimes I pick up my guitar,
but not often enough. I sing. I write songs sometimes. I write music that is too complicated for me to play. My son
and I have jam sessions with our many instruments, some of which he invented. They are awful and wonderful.
People always giggle when they walk into my house. It's full of art, art supplies, angels, musical instruments, and
colored lights. Or maybe they're only giggling at the mess.
My art is about laughing, loving, and waking up. The medium is not as important as the end result, so I work in paint, colored pencil, clay, cloth,
digital media, and anything else that works. I have been a professional artist and illustrator for many publishing companies, both large and
small. My polyclay art was included in "The New Clay," a book by Nan Roche. I have illustrated hundreds of books, including many in the "For
Dummies" series.

Mary has written and illustrated a children's book called "Belle's Wings." "Belle's
Wings" is about a tortoise named Belle. She is an artist and a dreamer, singing and
drawing in the dirt of her zoo enclosure. Her best friend, Lankford, is a giraffe. His
height makes him a great lookout and grape-gatherer, and Belle loves to eat grapes.
When Belle tells Lankford that her fondest wish is to fly, Lankford must decide whether
to show his skepticism or support his friend's unusual dream. Both characters grow and
learn about courage, resourcefulness, loyalty and love. The story has 2,398 words,
and every spread is generously illustrated. The book also includes a small poster.

Inspiration, Imagination and Invention with Simon Rose
March 1, 2010 - History is a Thing of the Past
Simon's second novel, The Sorcerer's Letterbox, features the mystery of the Princes in the Tower, the boy king Edward V and his younger
brother, supposedly murdered in the Tower of London in 1483 by Richard III. This show examines the use of history as inspiration for works for
fiction, making use of real personalities and events, and the need for accurate historical research.
Other subject matter under consideration for future shows are:
Books based on major historical events
Time travel stories
Science fiction and fantasy

her unique voice to the challenges of having a successful and lasting relationship. As an ordained minister, she has been performing spiritual
ceremonies for more than fifteen years. Laura speaks publicly on a number of matters including human rights, sexual abuse, teen suicide,
homelessness, depression, healing the past, and learning to "thrive rather than simply survive" our lives. Calling upon her personal experience
and more than twenty-five years of study in metaphysics, world religion, and philosophy; she brings a fresh perspective to the practice of modern
day Spirituality......which she refers to as "Spirituality For Real Life (R)." She and her daughter founded the "Soul to Soul" project which focuses
on supplying those who are homeless and suffering with blankets and inspirational books. Laura lives in New Hampshire on a small farm with her
husband, their beloved daughter, and many happy animals. She believes that every person comes into this lifetime with unique and wonderful
gifts; "It is the sharing of those 'gifts' which make a profound and lasting difference for the future." (Taken from
http://www.lauralesterfournier.com/id5.html)
as if it were yesterday. Many students crammed into a lobby area of a dorm and listened to a very personal first-person story about a God—a God
who wanted them, loved them, and lavishly prepared a place to be with them and was waiting for them. Weeks later, several students shared their
thoughts on the story with me and of how they now had a place where they met God every day. That amazed me and I discovered one of the values
of storytelling—shelf life. Stories, like good friends, hang around.
I believe God has given me a sensitivity to the broken and bruised, the naïve and young, the hopeful and disheartened. My stories come from my
observances of life, dialogue with family and friends, my church involvement, personal discoveries and the stuff of life—growing up in an alcoholic
family, infertility, adoption, several miscarriages and a miracle or two. My undergraduate studies in social work, graduate work in social science, work
experience with young adults and troubled adolescents, along with my own personal background have provided the foundation for my storytelling.
And then there's everyday life…
Powerful things happen when a story leaves the lips of a faithful teller and reaches the listener's ears. The first sign of it is physical—crossed arms
unfold, stern and serious adult faces soften to a child-like quality and children sit almost unmoving. I seldom know exactly what happened for that
listener that connected so deeply, but I know something wonderful took place in that story moment. And that is the power of Story—its potential for
change, renewal and understanding is an awesome responsibility and honor for the teller.
I will never tire of what happens when you and I meet in the middle of a story. Never. Whether story takes me to church, a classroom, a convention,
a family room, or the rails on the side of a hospital bed, it will be my privilege to share in this intimate community created with a Story.
I look forward to sharing a Story with you...Melea"
Melea Brock writes:
Through stories I've written, folktales of old and true-life stories, I dip down into the Truth of life for my listeners.
I confront, in a non-threatening way, relationships, beauty, worry, our gifts and talents, forgiveness, healing,
the foolishness of life, God's constant presence. Through storytelling, I offer the listener a face-to-face, ear-to-
ear, heart-to-heart opportunity to be still and hear what needs to be heard.
I began storytelling in 1982 while working as an assistant dean at a small Christian college in California. I found
that if I had a story when I taught and it specifically related to the teaching, a disinterested student could
become a listener and a learner in that moment. I can remember my first story's telling, “The King Who Waits,”

Any accolades attributed to me are the result of the solid foundation provided by a loving grandfather. This great man assertively implanted the
concept that knowledge is power, which developed into the understanding that education is the single most important ingredient necessary to
neutralize those forces that breed poverty and despair. This philosophy planted the seeds that cultivated a life, which is “Just a Season.”
(taken from johntwillschronicles.com)

Just a Season is a luminous story into the life of a man who, in the midst of pain and loss, journeys back in time to
reexamine all the important people, circumstances, and intellectual fervor that contributed to the richness of his life.
This fictional narrative begins with a grief-stricken father visiting the grave site of his beloved son who was killed in a
tragic accident; a moment that he and no other loving parent should ever have to face. As he sadly gazes at his son’s
headstone and reads what is inscribed there, the dates 1981 – 2001 bring about an illuminating discovery.
The tiny dash that separates the years of one’s birth and death represents the whole of a person’s life. So if this tiny
dash were to tell his life’s story, what would it say? In Just a Season, the dash of this man’s life is revealed and what
emerges from the pages of this book is a legacy of true benevolence and grace.

We at Robin Falls want to help our Host George Scott, President & CEO of Books For Heroes Charitable
Foundation,in his mission. It is best explained by the following text taken from George's site
booksforheroes2010.com:
My name is George Scott and besides being the events manager at Eagle Eye Book Shop in Decatur , Ga. ,
I am a man on a mission.
Of course, my mission is nothing like that of our gallant soldiers, sailors, pilots and Marines in Iraq ,
Afghanistan and wherever else freedom is being defended. But it does have everything to do with their
steadfast courage and love of country.
A few years ago I wanted to supply these incredible warriors with as many quality books as possible. It was
just a small way for our literary friends, customers, publishers and authors throughout the country to say
thanks. We did so by sending more than 12,500 books overseas to our military heroes.
